Application Description:  
Adhesive Spray Nozzle.    

Challenge:
A maker of ultrasonic bonding equipment needed to move a spray nozzle used to apply a liquid adhesive. A plastic material was being fed into the machine at high speed and the selected actuator would be required to match the speed. In addition, elimination of over-spray was desired to increase machine efficiencies. To accomplish this the actuator would be required to provide smooth, consistent travel at high velocity.

Tolomatic Solution:
A B3W10 linear belt drive actuator – with an enclosed ball bearing system – was selected to provide the stability of travel and meet the high velocity requirement of 150 inches/sec. This actuator was able to match the speed requirements of the machine and provide the consistent, repeatable motion necessary to reduce over-spray while accurately applying adhesive to the plastic sheeting.
