Application Description:
Operation of door/gate to index vials prior to sealing.
Challenge:
A pharmaceutical manufacturer creating a new medical vial filling and packaging machine needed an actuator to operate a door/gate to index vials prior to sealing. The actuator had to meet each of these requirements: Hygienic integrated motor/actuator, one cable, 316 stainless steel exterior, roller screw, brake and 460 Vac.
Tolomatic Solution:
Tolomatic had not "offically" released the IMAS actuator at the time that this opportunity came to our attention. Using 3D CAD files downloaded from www.tolomatic.com the manufacturer was able to design the IMAS into their CAD assembly to verify fit and mounting. The RN10 roller screw provided the high accuracy and zero backlash performance required. The IMAS is a critical component in this life saving application.
