Servo Linear Actuators Explained

VIDEO

What Are Servo Linear Actuators and How Do They Work?

A servo linear actuator converts rotary motion from a servo motor into linear movement through an internal screw mechanism. In an integrated design, the motor is built directly into the actuator housing rather than mounted externally. This eliminates couplings, belts and other alignment steps required with traditional actuator and motor assemblies.

Because the motor and actuator are engineered together, the result is a more compact motion solution that’s easier to install and maintain while delivering the dynamic response and accuracy associated with servo control.

This video illustrates how this integrated architecture works and why it can offer advantages over separately mounted motor systems.
